Reading Slump Woes

Okay, confession time. I have been in the worst reading slump since forever. Alright the forever part might be an exaggeration but it feels like a really, really long time. And the saddest part is I have so many books I could be reading and so many I want to read but I can’t seem to get into any of them.

Right now I have at least five books that I have read about 20 pages into not to mention the other ones I’ve started on my kindle but haven’t finished. I’m running out of bookmarks because I keep starting books!  I’m looking at a TBR List for the month of June that could make any grown man cry. But I know I can do it, I just don’t know where to start.

I’ve considered many options to get out of my slump including but not limited to:

  • Finishing a book I’ve started
  • Starting a new book (finding a bookmark not included)
  • Rereading a book I love

I’ve even turned to the internet by googling how to get out of a reading slump. One blog’s suggestion was to watch Netflix. No really they suggest watching Netflix. Supposedly that will make you want to read again. Have you ever started watching Friday Night Lights on there? Tell me you’ve stopped to read a book. No? Me neither. I will sit and watch that series from start to finish because I’m not a quitter. Except with books. Okay this isn’t important but what I’m saying is I haven’t found a solution to get me back into the reading mood.

The only thing I can really come up with is rereading a series because the final book comes out in August. So that way I’m killing two birds with one stone. Here’s to hoping this works.

Happy reading,

Meghan
